Apples to Oranges

I was greeted this morning by sad news.  The Founder of Apple Computers, Steve Jobs, passed away from his battle with Cancer at the age of 56.  

 

This makes me sad because I am a lover of Apple products.  I never used to be but Jobs' attention to detail in all of his devices, be it how much memory it has or what colour it is, eventually won me over from the PC world.  

There is no question on what apple has done to the music industry. From the way we get our tunes to th way we listen to them, Apple has given us the ability to hold our entire music library on one small device.  

He was a visionary as well.  Always chasing his dreams and doing what he loved.  I'd like to share a quote that Mr. Jobs gave in the Commencement Speech to Stanford College in 2005, after he was diagnosed with Cancer. 

 

"Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything - all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart."
